Great news! Step 3 of the government’s ‘roadmap out of lockdown’ comes into effect on 17th May and means that we will be able to operate pretty much as we did pre-Covid.
In practice, it means:
- We can now walk in groups of up to 30.
- There is no need to book in advance, but it is always a good idea to let the leader know if you are planning to walk. It helps to have an idea of demand.
- Car sharing is permissible, and meeting at The Triangle will resume for those wishing to car share.
Given what we have been through, some members may understandably still be nervous about sharing the very confined space of a car interior. Drivers may wish to limit the number of passengers they take, and passengers may decide to drop out rather than travel in a car that is full to capacity. The number in each car will therefore have to be negotiated, taking into account the views of all those involved, and, as ever, lifts cannot be guaranteed.
Any driver wanting to make their way direct to the start may do so, but should contact the leader to find out if there have been any last minute changes of plan.
We hope to see you soon, as we look forward to a summer of unrestricted walking.
